solar battery grants: UK commercial installation specialists

We are a UK commercial energy storage specialist focused on one thing: getting businesses the right battery, sized from real data, funded the right way, and connected to the grid without nasty surprises. We work across England, Scotland, and Wales, from single-site peak-shaving batteries on factories and warehouses through to solar-plus-storage on retail and logistics estates and resilience designs for cold storage and other critical loads. Our engineers come from a commercial solar and electrical contracting background, which matters more than it sounds: a battery is only as good as the electrical design, the grid connection, and the control software that sits behind it.

Why we focus on storage and the funding behind it

Battery storage has become the part of the energy mix where the most money is won or lost on getting the detail right. The end of the Triad regime, the shift to banded DUoS charges, and the rise of solar-plus-storage have changed where the value sits, and a lot of advice in the market is still working from the old playbook. We built this business around the storage and funding question specifically because that is where businesses most often get sold the wrong thing. A battery that is the wrong size, or one whose business case leans on volatile frequency-response income, can sit on a roof or in a compound losing money for a decade. We would rather model your half-hourly data, tell you honestly whether a battery pays back, and walk away from the projects that do not.

How we work

Every engagement starts with data, not a sales visit. We pull at least 12 months of your half-hourly meter readings and your DUoS band schedule, then model power and duration against your actual demand peaks and any solar surplus. We are independent of any single battery or inverter manufacturer, so the specification follows the engineering rather than a supplier relationship. We model demand-charge avoidance and solar self-consumption as the core case and treat any grid-services income as upside. We submit the G99 application and engage your DNO on day one, because the distribution network timeline is almost always the longest item in the programme, and we use a G100 export and import limitation scheme where it lets a project proceed on a constrained connection. The full financial model, including the capital-allowance position and every funding route, is handed over so your finance team and accountant can check the numbers themselves.

Safety and standards as standard

Fire safety and insurance scrutiny on lithium-ion storage has tightened, and rightly so. We specify lithium-iron-phosphate cells for almost every commercial install because they are far more thermally stable than older nickel-manganese-cobalt chemistry. Every system is designed to BS EN 62619 for cell safety, BS EN/IEC 62933 for system safety, and the principles of PAS 63100:2024 for installation and fire protection, with NFCC guidance applied to larger sites. We engage your insurer up front rather than presenting them with a finished installation. The risk in this sector lies in cheap, non-compliant kit, which we do not install.

Why businesses choose a specialist over a general contractor

A general electrical contractor can wire a battery. What they rarely do is size it from half-hourly data, model the DUoS and capacity-charge value accurately, navigate G99 and G100 with the DNO, build a defensible funding case, and design to current BESS fire-safety standards. Those are the things that decide whether a battery pays back or disappoints. We do this work every week, we put our assumptions in writing, and we back our installations with an insurance-backed workmanship warranty. If your demand profile does not justify a battery, we will say so before you have spent anything.
